How Did It All Begin?
The Founder’s Perspective
WINGS began with just three students around my dining room table. By February 2018, the number had quickly grown to five, and soon after, child number six joined as we moved into a house in South End. By Term 3, our numbers had increased to 15 students, and by the end of the year, we were caring for 22 children with the help of additional staff. We had outgrown the South End property and needed an outdoor play area.
In 2019, we started the year with 27 students and, midway through, WINGS found a new home in Walmer, complete with an outdoor play space.
The Covid lockdown in 2020 brought unprecedented challenges to education and businesses worldwide. Yet, God faithfully guided us through this season. We met in small groups across town until He led us to a new building in Heatherbank. In 2021, we settled into a beautiful, farm-style space that we could call home.
In 2024, we started the year with a bang by relocating our Senior School students to a newly renovated high school campus just a few hundred meters up the road.
We count ourselves blessed by God to be part of His work as we live under His WINGS. To Him be all the glory!
Staff For 2025
Owner and Principal: Tracey Olivier
The growth at WINGS and the ripple effects it has had on the lives of those connected to the school have far exceeded my initial vision and expectations. From humble beginnings with three children around my dining room table, the school has grown to include over 100 pupils, supported by 15 full-time and 3 part-time staff members in 2025.
Every child who walks through the gates at WINGS is seen as a whole person, to be loved and supported spiritually, emotionally, socially, and academically as they grow toward their full potential. Together, we work to navigate the barriers to learning each child experiences.
What a privilege it is to walk this journey and witness what God has done—and continues to do—in the lives of our students, staff, and families. It has been a journey of faith, challenges, joy, prayer, and personal growth for me as well.
God has always been faithful in guiding each step we take as a school. We continue to trust Him, seek Him, and give Him all the glory.
